Booked timed tickets to see The Leonardo Da Vinci Exhibition, we literally went straight to the front of the queue with our timed tickets, no waiting at all. We only paid the normal Louvre Entry fee onkine. That said the exhibition was still far too crowded, considering it was ticket only entrance to the exhibition. Really enjoyed the exhibition though, especially as it was technically free as it includes the rest of the Louvre. Remember the Louvre is vast do your homework, so you don't waste time and miss out, also set yourself a time limit so you don't over do it. We got lunch from PAUL Boulangerie under the Pyramid in the main foyer, which is the same price as anywhere in Paris and really tasty. CLOAKROOM WAS A NIGHTMARE!! We were heading back to Gare Du Nord to get get the Eurostar after our visit, so we had our 2 cabin wheely cases, these didn't fit in the cage at the entrance but they did in the lockers, but we had to stand our ground with the lady at the entrance. When we arrived at the Cloakroom all lockers were free to use with glass doors so you could see inside and 3 different sizes. The nightmare was that there were about 20% locked with nothing inside, there were loads also broken or open but not locking, there was not one person from the Louvre overseeing the Cloakroom. Loads of people walking around trying to find a locker and waisting precious time. After about 20 mins we found 2, as mentioned both trolley cases fitted perfectly.

The Louvre has two queues: one for People with a ticket and one (very long) for those without. As -26 year old Europeans, we can get in for free by presenting our ID instead of buying any kind of ticket. Thus, we cannot buy a ticket, which forces us to go in the extremely long no-ticket queue. Today, this queue was so riddiculously long that we couln't visit the Louvre. Or give us the possibility to reserve these free tickets in advance, or give us access to the short queue. Otherwise, this doesn't make sense.

This museum is definitely worth it, and not just for Mona Lisa. If you have the chance to go there, make sure you visit the Egypt section. If you live in the European Union and are under 26 years old, I would recommend going there more than once, about 1 hour before the museum closes. Since the entry will be free for you, you can go several days at a time where there is no line at the entrance anymore.
Thank you so much for your kind review!
