Museo del Louvre - Biglietti d'ingresso

The Louvre is extremely large and there is so much to see that if you don't have a guide you may miss seeing some of the more important works of art. We toured with a small group of 8 people and it worked out well. I suspect it would be a challenge to be in a large group fo say 15 or more people. Although due to covid there is supposed to be a restriction in the number of people in the Louvre at once, it seemed very crowded. This is perhaps the premier museum in the world and not to be missed.

I'm sure if you have researched, You know you need several days to really full see the Louvre. We wish it didn't close so early...closes at 5pm...but what we were able to see in half a day was well worth the price of admission

The Musee du Louvre is usually on everyone's "to do" list. Originally constructed as a fortress in 1190, it was the royal residence from 1500s until the French Revolution. Reserve an entrance time slot online to avoid the long lines. I spent over 4 hours here and still barely scratched the surface. Pick 2-3 areas of focus and a few signature pieces in each. I chose European masterpieces (Mona Lisa, Wedding Feast at Cana and Coronation of Napoleon), sculptures (Venus de Milo, Mercury and Winged Victory), crown jewels, and Egyptian antiquities. I didn't see everything but enjoyed what I did see. Go as early as you can (I had a 9:15 slot) to avoid the crowds and head immediately to Mona Lisa (there were less than 50 people in line).
