We showed up at the Louvre on a Friday, without a reservation, and were concerned we wouldn't be able to get in. Happily, that was not the case. After asking what the various lines were for, we went to the line for folks without reservations (which was shorter than the one for those who did have reservations), and easily got in. Once we were in, we easily purchased tickets from the automated machines on the first floor. The tickets were very reasonably priced at 15 Euros. Our starting time slot was about an hour away, so that gave us time to grab some lunch (several on-site restaurants to choose from). You can make the Louvre take all day, or just spend an hour. Totally up to you and what you want to see. Once you know what wing contains what you want to see, you can focus on that wing, then go to another one. We were happy it worked out with no fuss.
Absolutely amazing, you could spend days here. Everyone who lives here especially students are so lucky to have access to these amazing historical artworks and relics. We got the 9am entry ticket yes there was a que but it moved quick and we were in by 9.10. My advice is to straight to the Mona Lisa, naturally that’s most popular. By 11am it was very busy but it’s summer and a huge attraction so you expect that.
Is there anything bad to say about this? The Louvre is a place you have to go and visit when in Paris. It takes time, sp make sure you do not have any lunch reservation.
