The structure and its contents are beautiful. Tickets are affordable. We went in autumn so it was not so busy. It's an experience so rich, literally and figuratively. Works of art that are hundreds and even thousands years old. I'm not much of an art aficionado but I truly appreciated my visit to the Louvre. We only had time for the Spanish and Italian exhibits, so I will come back to see the other sections for sure.
Thank you so much for your kind review!
The Louvre is obviously amazing and has an unmatched collection. However, the experience was awful. We entered at 3pm and the museum was completely full of people. My previous time here was almost 20 years ago and the experience this time felt much much worse in comparison. Last time, I remember there were too many people around the Mona Lisa, trying to snap a photo. Now, it's the same everywhere. If they don't want to reduce attendance (which feels excessive), at least they shouldn't allow pictures (or charge extra for the right to take photos), because this makes the experience very annoying. I don't even understand why people want to take terrible pictures of art...they can literally browse better photos online. It's like if some people can't experience reality through their own eyes, they need a phone between them and the art for some reason. This interferes with everybody else's view and makes circulation too slow.
Thank you so much for taking a time out to write a review for us.
Set aside a minimum of 4 hours.... or even a full day to be able to enjoy the artwork that speaks to you. You still won't be able to see everything but will be able to spend enough time in front of the artwork you choose.
