The Conciergerie was formerly the royal palace in Paris, and a prison - especially during the French Revolution years.
If you plan to also see Sainte Chapelle visit here first , you can get a combo ticket for both locations online. Chances are there will be little or no line here- unlike at Sainte Chapelle. Anyone interested in Marie Antoinette- or the French Revolution should come here. It gives a good overall education about the revolution and what was happening in Paris before, during, and after.
Nous avons fait une petite queue pour visiter la conciergerie (nous avions acheté un billet combiné avec la Sainte-Chapelle). Une fois à l'intérieur, on pouvait aller à son rythme et il n'y avait pas trop de monde. Nos enfants ont beaucoup aimé cette visite car ils ont tous entendu parler de Marie-Antoinette. La majeure partie du musée est consacrée à "L'interprétation de Marie-Antoinette par l'histoire". C'était très intéressant de se promener dans la conciergerie et de réfléchir aux événements de la Révolution française. Si vous aimez l'histoire, c'est un très bon musée.
