Highlights
- Learn about medieval Paris by seeing the beautiful Conciergerie, where you can also view the stunning architecture of the revolutionary court and the jail where Marie Antoinette is said to have been imprisoned.
- Visit the tombs of French Revolution heroes while admiring Gothic buildings from the 14th century, prison cells, and dungeons.
- Admire the Gothic architecture and magnificent 13th-century stained glass windows of the Sainte-Chapelle at your own pace.
- Learn more about the precious artifacts and relics stored here in the past, including the Crown of Thorns and the Image of Edessa
From an architectural prospective, worth visiting. Better to visit the Chapelle Chapel which is right next door with the magnificent stained glass windows.
Small and simple, you can get a combined ticket with Saint-Chapelle right next door and see both within 2-3 hours. Walking in the main area was odd as there was a sand sculpture display being worked on in the beautiful main hall area. The rest of the museum is around that main room and was surprisingly interesting. Besides having the area that was the cell of Marie Antoinette for 79 days leading to her execution, this museum has a long history in France. It just so happens that some of the most notable times were during the French Revolution.
