Visited on Sunday. Really enjoyed my visit. Playing a big part during the aftermath of the revolution, notably the last residence of Marie-Antoinette, it is really interesting to see where they would have spent for a lot of them their last days. There are lots of useful plaques on the walls that have information in English. The visit itself took me over an hour, more if you go for the histopads, that definitely seem interesting if you fancy a more in depth look. All in all a great place to visit.
Enjoyable visit to see the old Royal Palace..that was turned into a prison where Marie Antoinette stayed prior to her beheading...There are now Law Courts within...I liked walking through the old banqueting hall & seeing the rooms where Marie Antoinette stayed..there is also substantial information regarding the French Revolution.
So I went to the Conciergerie, walked around and left. Saw some old prison cells and some other rooms. Wasn’t much to talk about was totally underwhelmed.
