Visited a Wednesday evening, got in quickly. Beautiful works of art all in a beautiful old palace. Saw the Mona Lisa. Audio guide excellent in explaining what we were looking at. Easy to find our way around. Enough seats to sit on when you need a break.
The Museum would required more than one day to finish it, you can select which sector you would prefer to view first if you wish not to come back again. Staff are helpful and it is better to take audio guide or tours. Buy your tickets online to avoid waiting in long ques
It's hard to imagine visiting Paris without going to the Louvre - it's such a must-see, and it really lives up to that. It's a vast collection, and there's so much more to see than the usual tourist traps and the quick route to the Mona Lisa and out again. I did use the audioguide facility on the phone app, but found it a bit limited and sometimes quite annoying - your position doesn't match up to the map, and it doesn't give you proper tours, so it doesn't help navigation. But it's helpful in that it gives you some extra information about some notable pieces. I had a light lunch in the Cafe Richelieu-Angelina - I had a glass of champagne, a croque monsieur, and then I had the patisserie that is the special chocolate pyramid shape for the pyramid you're overlooking. The cafe is expensive, but very enjoyable and part of the Paris experience, so I thought it was worth it.
